Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of smartcryptocalcs.com and any related calculators, content, and services we make available (collectively, the "Site"). The Site is operated by SmartCryptoCalcs, an independent publisher.

Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Acceptance of terms

By using the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, which are incorporated by reference. We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version. Material changes will be noted on the Site. Your continued use after a change is published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Site. If you are under 18, you may use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to use it.

By using the Site, you represent and warrant that:

  • You meet the eligibility requirements above.
  • You are not barred from receiving services under the laws of the United States or other applicable jurisdiction.
  • Your use of the Site complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Description of services

The Site provides free, browser-based calculators and educational content related to cryptocurrency, decentralized finance (DeFi), staking, mining, taxes, and related topics. The Site is informational in nature. It does not:

  • Execute trades, transfers, swaps, deposits, withdrawals, or any on-chain transaction.
  • Hold, custody, or have access to your funds, wallets, private keys, or seed phrases.
  • Provide personalized financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.
  • Operate as a broker, dealer, exchange, money transmitter, custodian, RIA, CPA, or law firm.

All calculator outputs are estimates produced by software running in your browser based on the inputs and assumptions you provide. See the Disclaimer for the full discussion.

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Site at any time without notice.

4. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including but not limited to text, articles, guides, calculator logic, graphics, logos, layouts, and source code authored by us, is the property of SmartCryptoCalcs or its licensors and is protected by US and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may quote or reproduce limited portions of our written content (a paragraph or two, or a single calculator result) for non-commercial purposes provided that you (a) include clear attribution to "SmartCryptoCalcs" with a link to the original page, and (b) do not modify the quoted material in a way that misrepresents its meaning. Wholesale republication, scraping, or rehosting of articles or calculator code is not permitted without our prior written consent.

The "SmartCryptoCalcs" name and any associated logos are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written consent except for nominal, descriptive reference.

5. User conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Use automated systems (bots, crawlers, scrapers) to extract data, calculator outputs, or content from the Site at scale, except for well-behaved indexing by major search engines that respect our robots.txt.
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attack the Site, its servers, or its network, including by denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service techniques.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site, or breach security or authentication measures, without prior written authorization.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Site beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity, including in contact form submissions.
  • Submit content through the contact form that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Use the Site to harvest or collect personal information about other users.
  • Frame, mirror, or embed substantial portions of the Site without our prior written consent.

We reserve the right to block any IP address, user agent, or actor that violates this section.

6. Calculations are estimates

All calculators on the Site produce estimates only. Outputs depend entirely on the inputs and assumptions you provide and on the general models we implement. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness of any output for any particular purpose. Real-world outcomes will differ, often materially, due to price volatility, network conditions, fees, slippage, tax treatment, regulatory changes, exchange or protocol behavior, and many other factors outside our control.

See the Disclaimer for the full discussion of risks, including but not limited to volatility, total loss of capital, regulatory risk, smart contract risk, custody risk, and tax risk.

7. No warranty

THE SITE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY CONTENT OR CALCULATOR OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR USE.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SMARTCRYPTOCALCS, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST CRYPTOCURRENCY, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR DEVICE DAMAGE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100), OR THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW IF THAT AMOUNT IS LOWER.

YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE SITE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE AND THAT THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS ARE A FUNDAMENTAL BASIS OF OUR DECISION TO MAKE IT AVAILABLE.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SmartCryptoCalcs, its operators, contributors, agents, and licensors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party; or (d) any decision you make or action you take in reliance on calculator outputs or content from the Site.

10. Third-party services and links

The Site uses third-party services, including Google AdSense for advertising and Google Analytics for analytics (subject to the cookie consent rules described in our Privacy Policy). The Site may also contain links to third-party websites, exchanges, protocols, wallets, block explorers, regulators, and other resources for your convenience.

We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services or content. Inclusion of a link or reference does not constitute an endorsement. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that service's own terms and privacy policies, and is at your own risk.

11. Modification of the Site and Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, with or without notice. We may also change calculator formulas, default assumptions, article content, or the design of the Site as we improve it.

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Site are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to the dispute resolution section below, the exclusive venue for any action shall be the state and federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

If you reside outside the United States, you understand and agree that the Site is provided for informational use under US law and is not tailored to the legal requirements of your jurisdiction.

14. Dispute resolution

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us through the form at /contact and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least sixty (60) days.

If the dispute is not resolved informally, you and SmartCryptoCalcs agree that any claim shall be resolved either (a) in small-claims court if the claim qualifies, or (b) by binding individual arbitration administered under the consumer arbitration rules of a recognized US arbitration provider, on an individual basis only. You and SmartCryptoCalcs each waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative action to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in court to protect intellectual property rights.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and SmartCryptoCalcs concerning the Site and supersede any prior agreements or understandings on the subject.

17. No waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of that right or provision.

18. Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, contact us through the form at /contact. We may not be able to respond to individual inquiries, but all messages are read.
